All-inclusive hotels in Marrakech — chosen in person

The first thing I say to anyone booking all-inclusive in Marrakech is what nobody puts on a brochure: there is no sea. This is an inland city, and the all-inclusive resorts sit in the garden belts outside the walls — palm groves, pools and the Atlas on the horizon. Accept it, and this is one of the best-value winter-sun weeks we sell.

I audit these properties myself against our 22-point criteria, and every flight-inclusive booking carries ATOL protection under licence 11211.

Why here

Why Marrakech works for all-inclusive

Marrakech does something no beach destination can: it gives you a proper city — souks, palaces, gardens, a food culture with real depth — then lets you retreat to a pool in a walled garden when the heat has done its work. The all-inclusive resorts are built around that rhythm: club-style properties with large pools, gardens and entertainment, for guests who want a fixed price and a base rather than a different restaurant every night. Add a season running from autumn through spring, and the logic holds.

The shortlist

The hotels we recommend

Five club resorts from our Marrakech programme. Board basis is confirmed in writing before you pay; it varies by season.

  • All-inclusive · Club resortValeria Dar Atlas Resort

A dependable club with gardens and a big pool complex — the property I name most often for a first Marrakech trip. Enough on site to fill a day away from the medina.

  • All-inclusive · Club resortValeria Madina Club Resort

The sister property, similar in style and equally straightforward. Good for groups wanting the same arrangement at a different price point.

  • Aquapark · FamiliesPickalbatros Aqua Fun Club Resort

Built around water, which in a city this hot is the point. The obvious choice with children — see also our child-friendly hotel selection.

  • Gardens · QuieterPickalbatros Sangho Resort

Lower-key than the aquapark resorts, with grounds you can walk. Better for couples who want the pool quiet in the afternoon.

  • Palmeraie · Larger scaleBarceló Palmeraie Oasis Resort

Out in the palm groves, with the space that implies. Book it when the resort is the holiday and the city is two excursions.

For something smaller and more designed, Jaal Riad Resort is adults-only and sits in our adults-only hotel selection; Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial is the grand-hotel answer, one of our selected luxury hotels.

Location

Where exactly to stay

Almost every all-inclusive resort sits outside the walls, in the Palmeraie or the Agdal belt. That means gardens, quiet and space — and a taxi into the medina. If your priority is walking out of the door into Jemaa el-Fnaa, a resort is the wrong product and a riad inside the walls is the right one. If it is a pool, a fixed budget and two or three trips into the old city, the resorts do exactly that.

the port of Essaouira on the Atlantic is the classic two-centre partner, and the bay at Agadir is where our beach all-inclusive sits — see all-inclusive hotels in Agadir. The whole picture is in our Morocco holiday programme.

Practical

What to know before booking

  • Flights and transfers. Marrakech Menara (RAK) is close to the city and the resort transfer is short. Your airport transfer is included.
  • Alcohol works differently. Drink inclusions are narrower than in Turkey or Egypt — expect local beer and wine at set hours rather than a full bar all day.
  • Season is inverted. October to April is the good window. Midsummer inland is fierce, and the resorts are quieter for a reason.
  • Budget for the city. All-inclusive covers the resort, not the medina. Guides, taxis, hammams and the inevitable rug are extra.
  • Entry and health. No visa is currently needed for short British tourist stays, but requirements can change at short notice — check the official guidance before you fly and arrange travel insurance with medical cover, since a UK GHIC does not apply.

What is protected: a flight-inclusive Marrakech package falls under ATOL licence 11211, and your certificate lists each covered element. Anything sold without flights sits outside the scheme — see how your booking is protected.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about Marrakech

Is there a beach in Marrakech?
No, and it is the most important thing to understand. Marrakech is inland; the nearest coast is Essaouira, around three hours west. If a beach is essential, book Agadir, or pair a few nights here with the coast.
Does all-inclusive include alcohol in Morocco?
Usually local beer, wine and spirits within set hours, though narrower than Turkey or Egypt and some hotels charge for imported brands. I check the current arrangement before you commit.
When is the best time to visit?
Autumn and spring. October, November, March and April give warm days, cool evenings and a walkable city. December and January are pleasant but cold after dark; midsummer is too hot for sightseeing.
Is Marrakech suitable for families?
It can be, with the right resort. The aquapark properties keep children happy and the medina is a good half-day. Very young children find the heat and crowds harder, so consider the shoulder months.
Should we stay in a riad instead?
If the city is the point, yes — a riad inside the walls puts you in the middle of it. If you want a pool, a fixed budget and space for a family, the garden resorts win. A genuine choice, not a hierarchy.
