Thirty years in Turkish tourism, and Belek is the coast I know best. I walk it every season, eat in the buffets on a quiet Tuesday rather than a showcase Saturday, and time the walk from the furthest room block to the sea in flip-flops — the number people feel by day three.

Belek is where Turkey's all-inclusive product is at its most serious: large resorts set back in pine forest, golf courses between them, a long beach of soft sand and fine shingle that shelves gently. Why Belek works for all-inclusive

Two things set Belek apart. The resorts were built on forested land with room to spread, so you get gardens, distance between blocks and a beach that never feels stacked. And there is real competition — a dozen five-star operators within a few kilometres, competing on food and facilities rather than price. That is why the à la carte restaurants are genuinely good, and why "ultra all-inclusive" here usually means what it says.

Where exactly to stay

Belek runs west to east, and it matters. The western end is closer to the airport; the eastern end, towards the golf courses, is quieter but adds twenty minutes each way.

If Belek is not the right fit, its neighbours on the Antalya coast each solve a different problem. the Lara beach strip has the widest choice, with its own all-inclusive hotels in Lara; the Kundu resort strip is quietest and nearest the airport; the Roman resort of Side adds Roman ruins within walking distance; the pebble bays of Kemer swaps sand for pebble and mountains. What to know before booking

Flights and transfers. You fly into Antalya (AYT); the road to Belek takes 35 to 45 minutes. Flights and your airport transfer arrangements are included.
Season. The sea is properly warm June to October. My pick is September: warmest water, easier heat, families gone home.
Ultra versus standard all-inclusive. The difference is usually imported spirits, à la carte visits and minibar. I confirm what a hotel's board covers before you pay.
Golf is not included. Green fees, buggies and club hire are extra everywhere in Belek, even at resorts with a course.
Passports and entry. British passport holders do not currently need a visa for short tourist stays in Türkiye, but validity rules apply and entry requirements can change at short notice — recheck the official guidance before you fly.
Insurance. A UK GHIC is not valid in Türkiye, so proper medical cover is essential — we help with arranging suitable travel insurance.

How far is Belek from Antalya Airport?

Around 35 to 45 minutes by road, depending on whether your hotel sits at the western end or out towards the golf courses. Your transfer is included, and I give the realistic time, not the brochure figure.

Is Belek only worth it if you play golf?

No. Golf made Belek's reputation, but most of our guests never touch a club. They come for the beach, the space and the all-inclusive food, which is the best on this coast.

What does ultra all-inclusive actually include?

Typically all meals and snacks, local and imported drinks, minibar and a set number of à la carte dinners. Details differ by hotel, so I confirm them in writing before you commit.
